Concrete Heat and Skyward Dreams
The city hums with energy
As I wander its busy streets
The sound of honking cars and chatter
Echo through the concrete heat
I see the lights of Times Square
Flashing bright in the night
The energy of the city
Is a constant, dizzying delight
The skyscrapers reach for the sky
As if to touch the stars above
The people here are all in motion
Pushed and pulled by the city’s love
But with all its noise and hustle
There’s a sense of loneliness too
In the crowds that fill the sidewalks
I sometimes feel I’m just passing through
But still, I love this city
With its endless possibility
It may be rough and unforgiving
But it’s where I’m meant to be
